Can't get accompaniment to work??!!

Unread post by ragingpup » Fri Aug 24, 2007 5:15 pm

I got a e403 from ebay and try as I might I can't get the accompaniment to play along. Ive worked this before on other e403s Ive tried and worked ok but I can't get this to work.

Im following the instructions to the letter:

1. Select style
2. Press acmp (shows on screen) button once
3. Press sync start button (flashing pattern on screen showing ready)
4. Hit a key on left hand side of keyboard - this should start the accpmt going to the beat but doesn't it just plays the piano note.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

Thanks for help

First thing is to check and make sure the External Clock setting is set to off. If that is not the cause you could do a system reset by turning off the power and then hold down the highest white key whilst powering on. That will restore to the factory defaults but will also erase anything you have stored in the flash memory.

Factory resets will often cure problems, you just have to be aware that you will lose any ram files and do a save proior to reset.

What GREAT luck. I also aquired a Yamaha PSR e-403 was quite disappointed to find I could not get the accompaniment to play along. I finally thougt, well, Goodle.com is at least a possibity. Found this website and the answer to my problem without even having to ask it. Thanks!!

Hi, eacraig! How do you like your "new" PSR-E403? I've got a YPT-400, which is another name for the PSR-E403. :)
