help to hard reset SY55

Unread post by chris99000 » Sun Jun 30, 2019 12:54 pm

Hello,
I just changed the battery of my SY55.
I still have an error message "ERROR! Hit" EXIT "Internal Bat.lo" but this time I have some sound :)
Unfortunately, the sound does not match the instrument and it lacks ...
I think i need to reset the SY55 synthetizer.
So I made Factoty reset 31, but it does not work I still have the error message.
I am looking for a solution to reset in factory mode or other to find my SY55 that I love: /
Can someone help me, I have not found on this forum, not on google :(
Thank you and i hope to see you soon

I've been thinking about desoldering the original battery on my SY55 and TG55, and fixing a battery holder with a new lithium battery as the old one has been in since 1991. I'm interested to know the correct way to go about this, other than the obvious of course.

hi everyone!

I figured out how to hard reset a Yamaha SY55 Music Synthesizer. The steps are as follows:

1. press the Utility button along with the Exit button and the Select button after turning on the power on the unit.
2. Press the +Yes buton to go to the next screen.
3. Press the Forward Page button until you get to Job 31 which is the Factory Set option. Press the Yes button to continue when it asks Sure?

The Music Synthesizer is now reset!

Hope that helps!

If anyone needs any further information, I happened to purchase the Yamaha Service Manual for the SY55 a few years ago. At some point I might try and scan and upload it, unless a pdf exists already on the internet.

Seems as if I've found a copy of the SM 2 years or so ago somewhere on the internet... 8)

After a quick check on my inventory, it appears my physical copy has sprouted a pdf backup at some point not so long ago...... ;) Oh well that is one less job to do!
