You can go to groups-dot-io , register then join the tg33sy2235 group. The Files section has 2 Windows editors, "TG33_editor.zip" by Matt Arend which deals with TG33- or SY22/SY35-format bulk dumps and "sy_edit.zip" by Rich Hanson which has a database of SY22/SY35-format sounds that are sent to the synth's edit buffer. A a friend of mine with a TG33 chose the latter,so I gathered all the patches I could find and wrote a couple of Java programs to add to/sort/merge the SY Edit sounds database - these can be found in "Sample SY Edit Database.zip". The sort also has a "-w" parameter to sort patches with those waveforms that differ between SY22/TG33 and SY35 to the end of the file. Keep in mind that if these editor programs use any 16-bit code you will not be able to run them on 64-bit Windows.

I've just got myself a SY35! Used to have the TG33 and I miss some of those sounds, so I found myself with this question. Can i import TG33 sounds to the SY35 or at least try to find the matching waveforms and try to recreate those TG sounds :)
Another yahoo group to join then.

The TG33 editor I mentioned in my previous post has an option to save voice banks in either TG33 ot SY22/SY35 format. Choose the latter then load in your 1-voice or 64-voice bank - it will recognise it as coming from a TG33 or SY22/SY35 as appropriate - then save it.

Thanks.
That Editor doesnt work for me (on a 2006 Mac).
I was just thinking I would save the SY35 Int sounds and then load in SY22/TG33 sounds into the Internal bank on the SY35 using a SysEx program (snoize) - dont see why this shouldnt work ok. (xmas holidays project #454) :D

The TG33 can load 1-voice or 64-voice system-exclusive dumps from the SY22 or SY35 but not vice versa. Also TG33 saves its multis as a separate sysex dump whereas the SY22/SY35 multis are in the same dump as the 64 voices.

Midi Quest 12 supports the SY22, SY35 and TG33 and is available for Windows 7/8/8.1/10 32/64-bit and and Intel Mac OS X 10.8 to 10.15. However the price for the Essentials version is probably more than you would get on the open market for the SY35, so unless you have a number of other synths it supports it may not be an economic choice.

Someone has made a version of the old SY edit to work with windows 7
do a search for "SY EDIT working under Win7" you should find it easily.
very simple and easy to use.

Hi. Thanks for the info. I recently uncovered MIDI Quest but alas it doesnt have (Alesis) Micron editor; my other synth and as you say its not economically viable.
I have a bunch of zips of SY/TG sounds as .syz files that I may experiment with sending to the SY35.
I only need to send receive voices not multis. Sadly my 'music-mac' is old and stuck on OSX 10.7
I will investigate more later.

Cheers!
