SY22 Key Repair

Unread post by camilla » Sun Aug 05, 2012 2:29 pm

Hi I'm new to this forum. I have to change a key on my SY22, I found the part (key) on ebay for 5$ but I'm not sure it's a good idea to do the job myself. Although it seems easy because the key simply split in half, so only the physical plastic key seems to be broken. The note still plays fine. Has anyone ever changed a key on an SY22? any tips or tricks?

Hi Camilla, welcome to the forum.

I think you will find it is fairly easy to replace the key on your SY 22. Also I think there may be instructions on the site somewhere but I am typing this from my mobile so will have to check when I get back home. Anything but Twitter and email is just a little too fiddley on this size of screen.

I posted this in one of the other's for an SY35 but the process/keybed assembly is the same. Have a look at the pictures & see if you think it's a hard job? I personally have 10 thumbs & found it easy enough so I'd give it a go. ... ?start=all
Art is whatever you can get away with.
