Help with small issues and Diagnostic Mode of SY77

Yamaha SY77 is a 16 voice multitimbral music workstation first produced by Yamaha Corporation in 1989. The SY77 is a synthesizer whose architecture combines AFM (Advanced Frequency Modulation) synthesis, AWM2 (Advanced Wave Memory 2) for ROM-borne sample-based synthesis, and the combination of these two methods christened Realtime Convolution and Modulation Synthesis (RCM).

I ordered a White Lithium Grease bottle and tomorrow i will start to put the grease back (i suppose it shall be placed on top and sides..).
The info in that link you posted sounds to be "correct" regarding the White Lithium Grease, however, for your own peace of mind, I would recommend checking with Yamaha that this is so . . . even to the extent of buying the correct grease from them . . . if there are any doubts . . . .

Plastics are curious things, and can react adversely to other materials in contact with them, that are NOT entirely compatible . . . .

Hope that helps

I wrote to both Yamaha and WD-40 to get some advice... will let you know!

In the meantime, since i will not be at home for a couple of days, i will try to put some

"WD-40 Specialist White Lithium Grease"

on the first key guide. Friday i will remove the grease and see what happened.

Just to give you some informations, the product above mentioned does not seem to harm the plastic at all... however i removed it from all the guides because it seems not to stay in place after a couple of key pressing.

I think i will try Lithium + PTFE from Rhutten applied with a small paintbrush.
