SY85 Soundbanks in Sysex format?

The Yamaha SY85 is a digital music workstation introduced in 1992. Unlike other Yamaha synthesizers of the time (SY77 and the SY99) the SY85 does not use FM synthesis. Instead, its sounds are based on samples, which can be layered and modified to create new sounds.

SY85 Soundbanks in Sysex format?

Unread post by Michaeloakley »

Hey everyone,

New member here and I literally today got a Yamaha SY85 through my door to play with. I used to have one 20 years ago when they first came out.

ANYWAY... So I'm looking for Sysex versions of any sound banks. Particularly the New Age ones. I don't have a computer with a floppy disk drive in order to copy the disk images to the floppy and load it using the SY85 floppy drive. I also have an Ensoniq VFX which is so easy to find SysEx banks and load them from my MacBook using Sysex Librarian over midi.

Hoping someone has been kind enough to create sysex versions of some sound banks.

Thanks,

Michael
