I think in some cases I would rather speak to an AI.

I had a delivery recently and was expecting three packages. The delivery driver brought one with him and when I queried it he just looked at me as though I was speaking a foreign language. Turns out he was right. He only spoke Portuguese..literally. Not a word of English..or even French which might have helped. Not only that but I went with him to the van to see if I could locate the missing packages and it was a complete mess in there. Everything was all over the place like he had rolled the van!

He then started talking into his phone. I thought he was calling his office but no, he was using translation software to let me know he couldn't find the packages. That would have been ok if the software translated well...which it didn't so really we got no further forward and I left it at that. THEN to my astonishment I watched him get back in the drivers seat, close the door and drive off WITHOUT closing the back doors! 8O

It was only the fact that he had to brake hard to avoid hitting the car in front that slammed the doors shut!

I also noticed when I was down by the van that all his tyres were almost bald!

So yes, drones and automation may not suit everyone but I will be fine with it as soon as they sort the bugs out.

In the meantime, yes collection points and drop off points are what we need more of. There used to be a great one near where we are at the moment but it closed down :(

I'm sorry but I'm laughing my head off! This would be a great situation comedy..    I need to stop..  (but you're too good at describing that delivery debacle).
Whew! (Wiping the tears from my eyes...). This guy sounds like a cross between Manuel (on Fawlty Towers) and Keystone Cops.

Truly, though, I'd really be hacked off. I couldn't believe the video of the woman who chucked all of those packages into the bushes!!
Did she think none of those customers would call and ask where their packages were? I wasn't laughing at that one. No conscience. One thing to be inept but what she did was unconscionable

Whew! (Wiping the tears from my eyes...) But yes, it would be so aggravating that you'd want to drop-kick him to the moon. This guy sounds like a cross between Manuel (on Fawlty Towers) and Keystone Cops.

I must admit we did laugh about it at the time. Poor guy. Imagine trying to earn a living in a country where you don't even speak a word of the language? I hope he has either learned some English by now or whatever translation app he was using has improved.

I know many of you don't like FaceBook (it is a useful evil to me for keeping in contact with people, cat videos and Coronavirus memes), but this one is really funny to watch.

My only variance against the behaviours is Hermes, who have a penchant around here for saying that your parcel is delivered, but show you a picture of a different front door to yours as a proof of delivery. One of our parcels ended up in a village 5 miles away, but fortunately the person who received it brought it up to us.

That's hilarious!

The only aggravating mail service over here (for me) is UPS. I think they play soccer with the packages before you get them and the delivery date is often subjective. They deliver when they're "in the neighborhood". If they don't have anything else to deliver in your area, you can bet you won't be seeing your package until they do. Two days typically. I live in a neighborhood slightly outside city limits..
