Montage to FS1R voice converter?

Unread post by sockmonkey » Sun Sep 16, 2018 11:17 am

Wondering aloud if anyone has given this a shot? Seems like it should be possible (although I don't know the details of the Montage file formats -- presumably a sysex dump is still possible). The data in the Montage Data List document correspond pretty much one-to-one to the FS1R voiced operators...

It's surprising that Yamaha themselves have not done this. Maybe something I'll build into montage.factory when I feel the need to have one of those (but kronos.factory is taking forever......)

I thought about this at one time, but since I don't have a Montage or easy access to FMX patches I didn't pursue it.
I don't see Yamaha taking this up though, not enough FS1R's in the world to make it profitable.
It shouldn't be all that difficult with the right documentation, it's just a matter of parsing a saved FMX patch.

Ah, OK. I missed it was that way around. I thought it was FS1r to Montage. My bad. But why not go either way, and it increase the number of patches available for the FS1r. Maybe one day...
