Yamaha FS1r Battery Replacement Guide

Unread post by Derek » Sun Mar 17, 2019 1:18 pm

Hi, all

Here is a short guide to replacing the battery in an FS1r, as my FS1r was now telling me it needed replacing.

I wasn't going to do a guide for this, but after undoing all of the screws on the top of the case and then realising that was probably not the way to go, I thought that somebody could benefit from my mistake! The FS1r is a strange rack in that it is like a keyboard where you go in from the bottom! This is the first rack I have come across that is like that!

Wonderful, thanks for your very detailed explanation.
I was able to change FS1R battery anyway, but at the time I unscrewed more screws than necessary :P

That is always the danger with the number of screws in Yamaha products! :)

Thanks, Derek, a riveting read and I don't even have an FS1R (yet). Just one little thing... the EX5R on P3?

Opps. Now corrected, but couldn't make it any more riveting than it already is ;) .

Thank you for this useful guide. I've replaced the battery years ago - enough time to forget what to unscrew. ;-)

I would suggest to reset the system anyway, as you may never be sure the volatile memory hasn't changed during the replacement.

Just a minor note - the front panel screw is slightly longer than those from the bottom plate - keep that in mind when putting everything back.

Regards,
Michał
