Combi programming: ext prog changes not working.Anyone?

Korg raises the bar again in the workstation category with the all new Korg KROSS. ... quality sound engine that punches well above it's weight. This section covers both the original KORG KROSS and the KROSS 2

Combi programming: ext prog changes not working.Anyone?

Unread post by AlfredAnthony »

So I have successfully set up favorites for my Yamaha MX performances on the Kross pads, they come right up, but when I try to create the same for a combi, it doesn't seem to work.

In the settings I chose EXT2 for track 1, set to channel 1G and put the proper values under MSB and LSB and saved, but when I change to the combi it doesn't work.

Any recommendation?

Just to be clear, do you mean setting up a combi on the Korg to recall a performance on the Yamaha, or setting up something on the Yamaha to recall a combi on the Korg?

Sending bank change to the Yamaha from a combi on the Kross.
It works with favorites. Not sure what I am doing wrong.

Hi

I don’t have a Kross but have you tried setting both Yamaha and Kross to a different MIDI channel? 1G means the global channel inside the Korg, and maybe that is stopping it. Other option is you may need to use EXT2 and also send the bank select values for the mode the Yamaha is in (usually found in the data list manual)

Thanks for your help. Yes this worked! I set the Yamaha to general channel 16 and set up the appropriate instrument and it works perfectly. So now I can really get some coherent layering going for on the fly crossfades and added arps synchronizing with the Kross.

Hi,

Glad that it worked. It was a bit of a hunch when I saw the 1G in your post.....
