APX sound hole cover

APX series guitars are designed with a focus on playability. Their thin bodies and cutaways that provide greater access to the upper frets, offer smoother switching between electric and acoustic instruments.

APX sound hole cover

Unread post by madasadad » Sun Mar 01, 2009 10:57 pm

I know the sound hole cover is designed to reduce feedback when plugged in, however, does it mute the unamplified sound enough to merit buying one? My family are complaining about me practising after they go to bed!

Nah, barely muffles the sound. Somebody once told me that they
used some foam to muffle the sound. I am not sure where they
put it (in their family's ears :-))... my guess is they put in or over
the sound hole.

As for the fuzz buster, I think you are supposed to get one with
your APX, along with a tress rod wrench and instructions too.
Go to the place you bought the guitar and tell them you didn't
get that stuff with your guitar and see if they have any for you.

Hope that helps :)

Yup

Agree with Fuzz entirely. Doesn't mute the acoustic sound at all.

You probably have a good case to go buy an electric guitar - these can be used with headphones :-)

Hi, I did not get the instructions on how to adjust the tress rod (got mine on a clearance sale), could someone scan and share to me? Thank you in advance.

Hey derpro, Ill have a look and see what I can do.
Although I don't think there were truss-rod instructions on the leaflet!

There is no instruction on how to do that in the instructions. Do you
still want to see them?

Does anyone know where I can get my hands on the oval soundhole cover for the APX's? I have the nylon and steel versions and REALLY need a couple.

Hi,

Overhere in Europe they are for sale in almost evry bigger musical instrument webshop. I assume the part number is the same in the US: search for Yamaha WQ769800.

Good luck

Thanks a million. That part # was the key. New part # is Yamaha VAE13900. I got online at:https://encompass.com/item/9804275/Yama ... Hole_Cover
