I recently received complete sysex dumps of ALL UltraProteus cards.
I intend to share them but I haven't had the time to do that yet (I haven't even checked the out myself yet...).
Hi , my first post here. I only registered yesterday , so Warm greetings to all.
RE: The Emu Morpheus & Ultraproteus,
I think these 2 synths are fantastic & are the two most powerful digital synths that Emu ever made. I also have an XL7 & E5000 Ultra which are both very powerful, but not as powerful for sound design as the Morpheus & UltraP.in my opinion.
Just to say in case this was not known. Morpueus & Ultraproteus sounds/ patches & cards etc are completely interchangeable, as they are exactly the same sound engine. True the Ultraproteus ( which I have) has many more filter types than the Morpheus, but I dont find that to be a great advantage, as there are more than enough on the Morpheus to begin with.
So apart from the difference in filter type amounts between the two models, the only other difference is the ROM/ patch data/sound sets.
If you send Morpheus Patch data to an UltraProteus , ( or vice versa) sometimes you end up with no sounds in a patch eg., but if you simply assign some random ROM waves ( 1 or 2) you will find that the rest of the patch data is already loaded , ie: the envelopes, filters , etc & function generators ( a very powerful programming set of tools ,as are the fantastic modular-like mod matrix), so some very serendipidious (is that a word?)results can be had just by sending patches from one model to the other .
Just to comment on the O.P.s original question; Ive been using my Ultraproteus since the mid 90s albeit a bit neglected lately, & yes the ZPlane filters can be amazing & way more so on these two synths because of their more powerful design & use of the 3D morphing of the filters, ie 'Z-Plane, rather than the more 2D implementation of the filters on the Proteus 2000 /XL7 / E4/ Ultra range. However I find the ZPlane filters are much less interesting even in the Morpheus /Ultraproteus than some of the other unique features of those synths IE: the Function Generators & their huge range of shapes & options & the extensive modulation matrix
Those 'Metscape Media' patches are great. Unfortunately I lost mine ( computer hard drive died) before I could load them into my U.P. & too much time passed before I could do anything practical about it.
Thanks to the member above for uploading the U.P. patches.
Hi all, I know that this is an old thread but could some one post a link to those morpheus rom card files as the ones that are available are missing the Hyper presets and midi maps. Thankyou
