CP88 & interface connection issues

Unread post by WOZZZ »

Guys need help!

I have CP88 connected to my home studio setup which is Steinberg UR44C. When I connect my headphones to the keyboard directly the sound is clear but when I monitor through the interface the sound has some kind of toilet-like echo and it is quieter. Not sure whether it is an impedance or some gain staging issue - tried different in/out volumes and different ports (3/4 and 5/6) in UR44C but the sound is always bad. It is important to me as CP88 is the main composing tool I use with Cubase and cannot work. I also have Prophet 6 connected to the interface but it sounds good.

Does that mean I need to switch to balanced XLR cables or do I need a different/better interface?

Please advise

Thank you!
