Failing to update screen technology, resolution and display output on the M was a big miss for Yamaha IMHO. At least a real HDMI out would be trivial to implement. Maybe they should talk to the arrangers' team.
It seems that Yamaha opted for another solution with the montage M VST but that involve a computer, I would prefer an extra touchscreen monitor. I like play and program on the fly, at the reach of one switch.
Oh, the VST is definitely the way forward and a very good move.
But again, the actual instrument would still benefit from such a cheap upgrade as an HDMI out.

But from how the economic models work and as we can see about what I call anomalies on modern gears, there is nothing such as cheap for they accountants.

That is true, but Yamaha is already using it in other keyboards. I doubt it's really a matter of cost on a device as premium as a Montage M. It's probably just negligence.
