Enjoying my new SX700

Unread post by hans1966 »

Hello Guys, after almost a year of having my SX600, I made the decision to go to the next level.

I took advantage of a special discount from Yamaha, and that's why today I'm sharing some photos of my new SX700.

greetings

Hans

Grats! Yes the sx700 is a *huge* step up from the sx600 (except the lack of an Audio interface, but you can simply use the built in 2 channel audio recorder for essentially the same thing). The larger (touch!) screen, and *much*, much more editing features, especially with regards to styles.

Congratulations 🎉🍾🎊. I wish you tons of fun and enjoyment with it. And also having 3 right voice layers, and touch screen, more voices, more expansion memory, and enjoy all the nice features and sounds. Wishing you success.❤️😎

Thank you very much Keyboard Master for your good wishes.

The truth is that I am very happy to have made the leap towards the SX700, my previous SX600 was a very good machine, but the SX700 is far superior in many aspects.
In short it is another level :P

Hi Hans :

Thanks for your SX700 feedback. Much appreciated ! 😃

I own an SX600 too.
I am pleased with it but apparently the SX700 offers a lot more.

Would you recommend me to buy the SX720 or SX700 and why ?
The price of the 720 looks to me to be too expensive yet, right ?🥺

Plse advise. Thanks Jeff

Looking on Amazon, the price of the SX700 and SX720 in the US is both $1,599.

Here in The Netherlands the 920 is approx. a € 800,00 higher in price than the 720 ( which = comparable to your price ! ).

I wonder why in the USA BOTH keyboards have an equal price whilst here the 920 is almost + US Dollar 800,00 ????
Unbelievable... Why ?
Only Mr. Yamaha knows the answer ... we do not.

Anyway, I will not buy one of them now.
I will keep my SX600 until further notice.

Best regards, Jeff

Hello Jeff, the SX720/920 are not yet available in my country, they are expected to arrive in the middle of next year, and with a high price.

In my case I went from SX600 to SX700, for several reasons.

1. 7 inch screen - Touch
2. Better keyboard feel.
3. High quality voices (sounds)
4.editing events in both the song creator and the style creator.
5. possibility of combining three voices + style, or three voices + bass, or dividing the keyboard into three parts.
6. insertion effects
7. Mp3 recorder and player

On the other hand, I took advantage of an additional 20% discount that Yamaha gave me, for having participated last year in a Master Class on how to create songs from scratch.

I've spent many hours with my SX700, moving some records from my previous SX600, reorganizing them, and creating others on the SX700.

I'm also removing duplicate styles, and creating a custom expansion pack for all my gigs.

my personal opinion is:
If you can afford the SX720, without a doubt it will be a great advance, because of the additional features that it brings and that are not in the SX700, such as: SuperArt.plus, Chord Loop, more insertion effects, and all the SX900 sounds, (without VH)

I hope this helps you :D

Hey Hans :

Thanks for your very interesting and useful comments and your recent very positive experiences.👍
They make it a lot easier for me to decide what to do in the near future.

It looks like the 720 might be the best choice for my personal applications.

The 920 is far too expensive here, IMO.
Apparently the 720 and 920 prices seem to be equal in the USA whilst in my country the price difference is approx. € 800,- between the 720 and 920 !!! Why ?

We, consumers do not understand Yamaha's present price policy ...

Best wishes, Jeff

Hi Jeff,

I dont think the SX920 is selling for the same price as the SX720 in USA. That would be crazy.
Looking at Sweetwater (The largest online retailer of musical instruments in the United States), the price for SX720 is $1599 vs $2299 for the SX920.
