The New PSR SX920 VERSUS PSR SX 900

Unread post by Mobolaji Olaniyi »

Please, my church in Nigeria is considering buying a yamaha PSR SX 920 but we got to know it is the latest 2024 series. kindly give me strong points to lead the church to buy psr sx920 instead of psr sx900 which we got to know in Nigerian market that it is already discontinued. Thanks

hi Mobolaji, welcome to the forum

Yes, Yamaha introduced PSR-SX920 (together with PSR-SX720) a couple of months ago and so it's the latest midrange arranger keyboard.
If you visually compare SX900 and SX920, you can notice that there's practically no difference between these two. The same is true for technical specifications.
The main difference is in number of built-in voices and styles. Some of the new voices in SX920 are from Genos1 and are considered as better sounding (which is also the main selling point).

SX920 or SX900? It all depends on price difference: if price difference is relative small, then SX920 is obviously a better choice. But keep in mind, that overall experience will be practically the same for both keyboards -that is, SX900 shouldn't be seen as "old".

Just my personal opinion,
Bogdan

Hi Mobolaji,
there is also some difference in expansion memory size. SX900 has 1 GB whereas SX920 has 2 GB of expansion memory.

You're right, Lacko -how could I forget that  :)
For some that might be quite important.

Then for church music, you can control the dynamics with Dynamic Control. You can make it seem like the band is playing with a light touch while a preacher is speaking. This is different from turning down the volume.
