My Reface CP receives what I need from the main keyboard, and everything would be fine if I wasn't going to change types (sounds) from an external controller. I programmed the LaunchPad, connected it to a small USB-MIDI Host, this to the MERGE Box, switched the Reface to “MIDI Control” and I can change sounds at will. The problem is that I can't do anything with the effects - the knobs don't work.... Is there any advice to override this? Am I making some kind of mistake? I just want enough to change the type of sound from the external controller, and handle the effects manually on the Reface.
Not sure I don't have one. Are you transmitting only on one channel? Some boards allow you to customize what gets changed or not such as "CC over knobs" etc. Program change will mess stuff up too depending on what you're doing. I'd adjust the MIDI settings just to see what happens but you probably did that.
Thanks for help. I had a "lazy day", and that's why I'm so late. I've checked it with USB, and notes, velocity, all this works normally in both modes. With "MIDI COntrol" off no other data is transmitted or received, with "MIDI Control" ON it receives all it can, and transmits all from its knobs. It seems unchangeable, and I don't think to ask Yamaha. Their likely response might be “but look at the price”
I've found another temporary solution.
Greetings.
