Saving LP X files as format 1 midi....then issues

Unread post by Bud550 »

Not sure if this is the correct category for this question.
I make baking trks, small/simple, on Logic Pro x, (mbpro os 14.5. LPx ver 11.0.1). , and save as midi format 1.
All ok so far. Then I drag to a floppy, to be loaded into my trusty Yamaha PSR 550, workstation.
This old baby works very well, playing all manor of midi backing trks from commercial sites, as well as old Van Bocco files. All with good separation of traks, generally drums on midi 10, instruments on 1,2,3,4. etc But my files from LPx load up as midi 0, or maybe midi 1 but all crowded into 1 channel., playing on 1 ., and sometimes 1,5....all together
Very weird. i even tried putting them thru. Sweet Midi Converter,, dragging in as format 1, converting to 0, then converting back to 1. And the other way around. Still same result on the 550. Seems something simple wrong in process. All the traks I use done by others were made on some sort of DAW, and LPx is no different.....I think. Any ideas welcome.
I know I can make traks directly on the 550, but when done on Logic,, it's possible to edit, and tweek, then load (hopefully) on the 550.
Singer in the band has a Yam 540 (essencially same machine). and I give her traks on floppys to practice, change keys/tempo, etc.
Thx for any answer.
Bud
