Any news on the Yamaha E483? Today, 09/09/2024, I didn't see anything about this model.

It is frustrating but it is probably, in many cases, because the reviewer cannot sing or sing well. They may be embarassed to try and sing?

That being said, if you do reviews for a living, by which I mean you run a successful YouTube channel that generates a fair amount of revenue. I don't think it would be too much of a stretch to find someone locally who would be more than happy to sing on the video?

The PSR-E483 apparently has a new sound chip and new DSP effects. That may sound more impressive on the spec sheet than it is in practice but we won't know until it starts hitting the stores, probably in a few weeks time.
Hahaha I've wondered this myself; and yeah "that guy" probably shouldn't be singing himself (no offense) and since it's such a large YT channel, would it kill him to hire an actual singer?

Yup, I demo them in the store, because online doesn't do them justice; the Casio PXS7000 is a *really* really nice stage piano, but the mic input; well the Roland FP90x sounds much better, but even the FPe50 mic input does as well.

Dexman every home piano (Clavinova, Avant Grand,m Roland DP/F/HP series) has 2 side by side headphone ports, but even some portables like Casio PXS1100/3100/5000/6000/7000. Why? So one person can play on headphones while another listens. Without disturbing anyone else

Given the relatively quiet release of the PSX 720 and PSX 920 I would guess that the PSE E483 will probably appear without much fanfare too. So really it could be anytime now🤔

Sir, is it sure that the psr e483 will be out soon? Historically, after 2X3 and the 3X3 models, it has taken more than a year for the equivalent 4X3 model to be released. I'm waiting for the 483 as well. An authorised Yamaha dealer had told me 4 months ago that the 483 is in production, and it will be released within a month. It's been 4 months since then..

I am sue the PSR E483 is ready to go but Yamaha will pick their launch window to make the most impact and therefore the most sales. If there are competing products out there, such as the Roland Go Keys 3 and 5, they may decide to let the dust settle on those before hitting the market with their new keyboard. They may have also decided to add features to compete and that could hold things up further.

Really though only Yamaha knows. Everything here is speculation based on past and current releases 🤔

So true! I spent a little time beating the bushes this A.M. and haven't found indications of an imminent E483.

Of course, Yamaha likes to fog up my crystal ball... :) :ugeek:

I've been waiting for several months to see if the PSRE483 has a 5 pin midi out. I've been looking into getting my first keyboard. I like the 473's price point, 61 keys, song features and internal amps/speakers. But would like to have a 5pin midi out. I've got a Roland G55 midi synth that I use with a 13pin midi guitar. So I'd like to be able to use a keyboard with the 5pin midi input on the G55.

If the 483 has a 5pin midi out, I'll definitely get one.
If the 483 doesn't have a 5pin midi out, would I have to jump up to the $1500 price point to get a 5pin midi and decent internal speakers?

Seriously doubt we will get 5 pin MIDI on a PSR-E.
They have been phasing out 5 pin MIDI for ages now on all entry level / intermediate instruments.
A quick look at Thomann shows none of Yamaha or other brands have it, not before you go to something like Korg PA600 which is around 900 euros. Or Thomann's own AK-X1100 (manufactured by Medeli) at about 600 euros.

I cannot think of any new entry level to mid-level keyboards that are still emptying a 5 pin MIDI port. They are all USB.

However for relatively little money you can get around this by using a USB host device such as the Miditech USB MIDI Host:
https://www.thomann.co.uk/miditech_usb_midi_host.htm

That will take your USB from the keyboard and transform it into 5 pin MIDI 👍

In addition to a 483, maybe I should start looking at the little 25 or 32 key midi controllers to use as a midi trigger. I'll have to look into that USB to 5pin converter, thanks for that idea.

Now that we're past Black Friday,
what do you think the ETA is on the 483 being released?
I'm guessing somewhere around tax time, April 15th.

Well certainly tax return time would be an ideal launch for any product. If people have disposable cash they are often looking for something new to spend it on. And if you are a musician looking for a new budget keyboard you could probably do a lot worse than a PSR E483.

I can't really see much holding up the release apart from timing. It is too late now for this holiday season although we still have NAMM on the horizon. They could possibly announce then with availability in the Spring. Only Yamaha knows the answer to this question and they are keeping very quiet about it ;)
