Part 2 of the FT Collection

Unread post by ChrisHarding »

Hi Guys

For those that enjoyed some of the styles in Part 1 .. here is the second part of the 12 style folders (Collection 7 to 12) Use what grabs you and delete what you don't like ..Both packs do have duplicates that are different so test out both styles before you delete the second one assuming it's a duplicate as quite often it's the nicer version

Unread post by ChrisHarding »

Hi Guys

I am going crazy ..in Collection 12 of the above pack there is an XT style file called "XT_ChristiePop" I have looked everywhere and the intro melody is so familiar but I just cannot put a song title to it ..I looked up all the songs on Google done by the band Christie and none match ..If anyone has downloaded this set please open Collection 12 and tell me if you know the song title!!

I hadn't downloaded the collection as I'm trying to restrict my style gathering habit. But I couldn't resist your plea, so thanks, I do love me some more styles. The name ChristiePop made me think it might be Tie A Yellow Ribbon (no idea why that) or something from Tony Christie... but to me it plays a bit like a mild version of Beautiful Sunday. Nice style though, I look forward to more ideas of what it might suit.

Awesome.. you are thinking out of the box so I'll widen my search ..I just assumed it was the band Christie (of Yellow River and San Bernadino fame) Never thought about other Christies so I'll take a look and see what I can find.

Yeah collecting styles is way too infectious! I backed up a batch on my downloads folder and I was staggered to see I had moved over 6000 styles ... way way too many to even contemplate!!!

Thanks again

Maybe not so awesome, I never did listen to the Intro  just played though the variations. Now I've tried the Intros, yeah it's something .... and the ending doesn't help. What it is I do not know!

The only one that sorta fits is Tony Christie's Amarillo!! BUT it's a different intro ..all my other versions use the standard intro so probably not that one!! Oh well we cannot win all the time!!!

Many thanks for trying

Hello!

The New Christy Minstrels is what I first thought of. My Dad played their albums on the hi-fi all the time. -charley

Yeah, the intro doesn't fit Amarillo but I'd be pretty happy with it for several of the many Tony Christie songs I spent much of my day listening to. Some (most) I hadn't heard in a long time and I don't already have any dedicated to them so it's a useful find for me.
If you ever figure a best fit for XT_ChristiePop give a shout!

Will do!! It's not really a priority at the moment. Oddly enough I find that the big style pack that Charley uploaded on the PSR forum when it was still with Joe seems to be my goto style choices .. His FFFF pack that was originally created by Pierke Munsen had 2400 styles and a huge amount were really useful and I never had to delete that many and balancing the RH and style volumes was simple unlike a lot of styles that seem to have a super loud backing and RH1,2 and 3 that you can hardly hear! Charley's FFFF collection I managed to whittle down to just over 2000 and then had the painstaking task of renaming each file to delete the number in the front of the file name so they would be in alphabetical sequence and not numeric sequence BUT I did keep them in 6 different sets of around 300 per set. I did put them up here a while back too but I had chosen just 600 styles so if anyone wants the 2000 + set just yell and I'll upload them ... the original ones from Charley are still on Joe's old page but it's a nightmare to navigate with all the ads there (plus they are still in numeric order)
