Based on the PSR-S series, the SX series models have been completely redesigned and come with a wide array of exciting new features for even more playing, composition and songwriting possibilities.
I’m thrilled to share that I’m now the proud owner of a Yamaha SX-720!
I’ve already started playing around with it, and it’s an absolute joy. Now I’m on the lookout for sheet music and chords for songs from the 80s and 90s, which are some of my favorite eras of music.
I know there’s a lot available on YouTube, and I already have some MIDI files that are super helpful. But I’m also interested in exploring other reliable sources, including paid options, for quality sheet music and chords.
Do you have any favorite websites, apps (especially for iOS or MacOS), or other recommendations? I’d really appreciate your tips and advice!

Congrats on your SX720 Thomas, enjoy!
Have you looked in the User Style area? There are loads of styles there so you might find some of interest.
Thank you!
Yes, I am aware of the section of this forum. I will explore that more and more the coming days
However, what I was asking here is not related to styles but "real" tunes/chords sheets for piano/keyboard.
I want to start to listen to the different styles on the SX-720 and when one reminds me of a song I want to find the
chords to play along. When I do a google search I find websites like Chordify, sheetmusic, ultimate guitar etc.
They all offer this kind of "service" i.e. you search for a song and then you get the chords and text for a fee but I do not know them.
I still have a few old piano and keyboard books from back in the day, but I was wondering: where do you all find your sheet music and chords these days?

There are several sites that may suit your needs.
I.ex.
Musescore - musescore.com
Songselect - songselect.ccli.com
Ultimate Guitar - ultimate-guitar.com
If do a Google searc there will be a lot more to find.
Also take a look and explore this thread for commercial sites, some may have both styles, lyrics with chords and even sheets: viewtopic.php?t=21308
Good luck, and keep on explore and enjoy your new baby!
Cheers & Happy Playing.

I use the MuseScore notation software. It integrates with their online platform https://musescore.com/ that contains both free and paid sheet music. I have only used the freely available sheet music. It does not contain everything, and the quality varies.
I don't use any apps on my iPad for sheet music (except for viewing sheet music in PDF format) so I cannot recommend those. I usually browse the web often for free and paid sheet music sites. My favorites are listed below. But it depends on the genres you are looking for. It sounds like you mainly are looking for chords and lead sheets. Don't forget to do searches for "lead sheets" or "fake books".
Paid sites:
musicnotes.com
sheetmusicplus.com
sheetmusicdirect.com
sheetmusicnow.com
halleonard.com (also has a lot of fake books, piano books)
musescore.com (there are some lead sheets here)
amazon.com (also has a lot of fake books, piano books)
For pop/rock music I play mostly by ear. Getting the melody is usually very easy, the chords can sometimes be more challenging if the key is less familiar to me.
ultimate-guitar as suggested is one of the sites to go for chords.
However lately I also discovered chordify.net
I find it more user friendly for keyboard players. They currently have a 1 euro/month black friday deal. So I paid 12 euros for a yearly subscription.
You might want to check it out. It's quite useful for figuring out some more difficult chords (sus4 etc). Also as it is playing along the actual song and shows you the chord in real time, you can concentrate more on the melody, which results in learning the song faster.
Are music books also an option? Since you live in Germany, the books
Keyboard Songbook Pop 1
Keyboard Songbook Pop 2
Keyboard Songbook Pop 3
by Jeromy Bessler and Norbert Opgenoorth might be of interest to you. These books were published by Voggenreiter Verlag and contain quite some pop songs from the 80s and 90s. The songs range from very easy to requiring practice.
These days you can almost only buy these three books second-hand.
And pay close attention to what is being offered. These two authors have published several books with very different content.
I own mine since last Friday ( Nov 29, 2024 ).
I confirm the 720 is a great arranger keyboard.
Like you I am very happy but... I need to learn a lot ( yet ).

I used to use Midi files to get sheet music. I used a program, Notation Composer, which would allow me to select the tracks, key etc and make a nice lead sheet with chords or a full score for pdf or print out. My program no longer works and I'm not sure I'll purchase it again but I believe musescore does similar. It's free but I've not tried it yet.
I use Open Text which will open a sheet (or book) on my computer screen when I select a registration. I think it's only for Windows though.
