I think we both need to just play, but I need to get some sleep now. I'm an early morning riser, but only functional in detail if I get a decent night's sleep.
The important thing is that you finally succeed to import files !

I have just tried dumping .YDP and .YDL files for different THR versions. They all start with "DTAP" and "DTAB" characters. I don't know which bytes allow the THR Editor to know for which THR versions they are made.

Thank you guys. I was on the wrong page. All my fault. Thought for certain the BBKing patch was a THR10C patch and couldn't figure out why it was saying invalid.

Again, I apologize for wasting your time.

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum so thanks for having me.
I've recently bought the thr10 and I'm still finding my way around with ref to the sounds. I've tried to import some of the above patches onto the editor. They appear to be saved but I do not appear to have any sound from them and after I switch off the unit and then switch on again they have disappeared.
As I am not too computer savvy does any body have any ideas where I am going wrong?
Many thanks in advance

Some questions:
  • Does the THR Editor says that you are "connected" (bottom right corner) ?
  • Are you sure you have downloaded patches for the THR10 ? (you can not use THR10C or THR10X patches on it)

If you want to keep sound settings when you switch off the unit, you must use one of the five preset buttons of the amp: simply press and hold one one the user presets on the unit and it will be stored there. Or of course choose the sound in the THR Editor software.

Thanks for the reply,much appreciated.
I'm definitely connected and I can download the patches onto the left hand side of the screen where all the empty presets are. The correct name for the patch is displayed ie Perfect blues but if I click on it I get no sound and if I switch off my lap top when I return the patch is gone.
I must not be saving it correctly. I press the button on the bottom of the screen to save, should I be going to the file section to
'Save as' instead?
Thanks for any help you can give, and don't get me started on Cubase 😳

Be careful:
The bottom button is "Save to library": it saves the current settings in one of the 100 patches of the library. BUT IT DOES NOT SAVE THE LIBRARY on disk. So, don't forget to save the library on disk before exiting from the THR EDITOR: in the file section you can use "Save" or "Save As", or use the shortcut CTRL-S.

My habit is to press CTRL-S each time I save (or update) settings in one of the patches.

And if you want to update the settings of a patch, you should verify the name of the selected patch in the "Save to library" window before clicking on the "Save" button ! Another advice is to make backups of the .YDL file once in a while.

Do we have any BASS PLAYERS out there also using THR-10 (the off white cabinet) :?:

Have you created any BASS PATCHES you want to share :?:

I'm currently working on a THR BASS library with several bass patches.
Just about ANY bass player is better qualified (than me) to test the upcoming library.

Any volunteers ?

Regards
Peter

YDL VS. YDP?

Unread post by JimEPage » Thu Jul 11, 2019 6:31 pm

Hi:
New here and just starting playing around with a THR10.
My question is, what is the difference between YDL and YDP? I can activate YDl for the THR10 but NOT YDP.
Am I correct in that YDL is ONLY for the THR10, and YDP is for the other models?(THR10C, THR10X, etc)
I have been to web pages where there are presets specifically submitted for the THR10, but they are in YDP.
So I'm a little confused.
Does anyone have a definitive answer on this?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi Jim, welcome to the forum and the string section. :D

YDL is a whole library containing up to 100 patches.

YDP is one single patch that can be loaded, and if you wish, added to your library or one of the 5 user memory knobs.

YDL and YDP files made for THR-10 will only work on another THR-10
(they work on THR-5 as well, but not any other models.)

YDL and YDP files made for THR-10C will only work on another THR-10C

YDL and YDP files made for THR-10X will only work on another THR-10X

I assume that this goes for the THR-5A (the acoustic amp) as well, but I haven't testet one yet.

Try and see if you can load a single YDP patch, then save it to one of the 5 user memories,
and even to the (YDL) library that you're already running.

 in our THR patch and library download section, the different files are divided into sections for each model.
for YDP patches for your THR-10 model start here: viewtopic.php?f=135&t=9613#p56099
for YDL libraries for your THR-10 model start here: viewtopic.php?f=135&t=9613#p56101

Hi Peter:

Aha. You just solved a two day mystery!
I appreciate it. I was attempting to download a YDP and I must have chosen the wrong option?
By the way, I've looked all over and can't seem to find an Andy Summers patch; you wouldn't happen to have one, would you?
Thanks awfully for the help, BTW!
Cheers

There is one or more "Police" patches, try to find them.
If you have no luck, I'll search for them.
If they are made for some of the other THR models, I'll try to make some for THR-10.

Hi Peter:

I did manage to find ONE Police patch; haven't tried it yet.
I'd be interested in seeing what you come up with, however, if you have the time!
Thanks.
