Safe From the Storm

Unread post by Derek »

I haven't been as prolific in lockdown as I thought I'd be, as we have had this gorgeous weather and I prefer to be outside and make the most of it - only one more month to Midsummer's - and I am one of the lucky ones who has been able to work from home, so for me, life has been as mad as ever but without the work travelling (which has pros and cons).

This song is quite a reflective piece, inspired by some sounds on my Korg Kronos, which had this sound like a harbour bay with the sea ebbing and flowing and bits of metal work from boats safely moored clanging away as they swayed in the tidal ebb and flow.

The harp sound is from the Kronos's STR-1 string engine along with all other sounds other than the choir pad, which comes from a 3rd party Omnisphere library.

Thanks for the feedback, guys.

I would say more to come, but it may be a while as with weather like we are having, then I have to be sitting outside!

The harp is very good I think, as mentioned above, it showcases the Kronos STR-1 string pluck modelling engine (which is capable of quite a lot more as well!).
