It is nice when a customer is treated with some respect, it means they go back and spend more money
(unless the stock manager is an idiot and buys only what he thinks will make a quick profit)
I think a lot of businesses fail to realise the way a customer is treated is why many of them go belly up eventually.
(not accounting for any other causes)
Ah . . . . Rara - you've landed on one of my favourite topics, or should I say "hobby-horses" . . .
I actually have a whole corral full of them
- but that's for another time . . . . .

Once when I did do a bit of business study one topic was the word of mouth pyramid.
One bad experience could result in the loss of a hundred potential sales.
Word of mouth speaks for it self ( ... ummmm
that was unintended ....
)
Once upon a time there used to be signs in many retailers stores
"Rule no.1 the customer is always right!
Rule no.2, if in doubt, see rule no.1"
A lot of this has gone out the window now.
The Sign I like BETTER is:
If you are happy with your purchase - TELL OTHERS
If you are UNHAPPY - Tell US . . . . !
That Pyramid effect is REAL and SO true . . . . .
I call it "Peer Recommendation".
I have an incredibly short fuse with TV Advertising. I don't/won't watch it.
Yet incredibly, people are taken in (it's on TV so it must be True) and Advertisers are continually proved RIGHT - and so
are unlikely to be tempted AWAY from it.
There is NO WAY, I will believe a script-reading Moron
("Celebrity" or TV-presenter), giving-forth on how wonderful a product is. . . .
On the other hand,
I WILL pay attention to someone I KNOW and whose technical knowledge and background I Trust.
THIS is what I mean by "Peer Recommendation".
Case in point: - I needed a pair of inexpensive Cans to use with my Alesis Fusion AND to use with my DAW . . . . .
The guy I asked was a "visiting lecturer" at the Uni, teaching "Sound Recording" to our undergrads. His day job was at the BBC
producing Classical Concert recordings for BBC Radio3 . . . . . enuff said . .
He recommended the Beyer DT231. They were already discontinued but I managed to purchase one new/old stock
and they were great. Showing their age a bit now, I replaced them with 2 pairs of DT240 pro - currently 79EU and superb.

The last time I had to try deal with any one was with Sigma and associated retailers for one of my camera lenses,
I'll never buy another of theirs ever again becasue of there attitude. just by writing this comment I've started off that pyramid.
I have a Sigma 400mm f4.5? Telephoto Lens I bought off ebay (£30) for my NikonF Phot FTN, pending a trip to Africa back in 1980
Not a fancy Lens but was good, with the Nikon AI tab on the aperture ring. AND it fits my Nikon 5200 DSLR - albeit in manual mode . . .
The Lens was ungainly enough to have it's own tripod mount - so you attach the Camera - as an accessory . . .

I found a good seller on eBay for keyboard related stuff, LCD screens and firmwares, etc, I had a
problem he was happy to help and the problem was eventually sorted out. "cpmagneticmedia" in the UK
if any one is interested. I bought an LCD screen and updated firmware for my TX7.
It takes nothing the be nice about what you do and a lot more effort in to being not
so nice, because then you have to try and recover from the way some one was treated and that one person
could tell many others .... there's the pyramid again ...
Rara
ALWAYS nice to hear of thoughtful suppliers - and here is the place to declare them . . . .
When I was researching the possibility of an SSD upgrade to my Alesis Fusion 8HD, I found a Chinese supplier of PATA SSDs
which are rather rare outside China. I communicated with him and described the project - and subsequently bought TWO SSDs
They were KingSpec 128GB drives. He replied that if they didn't work - I could return them for a full refund
THIS, I reported in here, and in the FusionZone and FusionClub Forums I moderate in . . . .
I know for sure that he sold more drives as a result . . . . .
