Hi everyone,

I am new to the MX range of synthesizers , and this is my first synthesizer full stop, used to Yamaha and Korg arrangers, but this is totaly new to me

After spend a few days chasing my tail trying to sort things out I came across this site http://yamahasynth.com/mx-category/mx49 ... n-computer

I wish I had found this first, I found it really helpful as a beginner to synth`s and Cubase

Hi George. Welcome to yamahamusicians.com :)

Always useful info over on yamahasynth.com website. Shame their forum is such a dogs dinner and certain "experts" there are not exactly "user friendly" but hey, that's why you have us. Best of both worlds :)

Your very welcome George. The MX is a great keyboard although it's true potential is somewhat hidden by lack of a software editor from Yamaha but...there are third party editors and in fact you can get to most of the hidden functions from within Cubase :)

Love the avatar by the way (Y)

Hi Saul

Cubase is something else that is totally new to me also, but I cant believe how well the MX interacts with Cubase , a dream to work with compared to arrangers, even Yamaha's own arrangers.

The avatar is a character from a TV series here in the UK , Called Shaun the sheep, and that`s Shaun in the advatar

Hi George

Yes I agree with you about Cubase although for some reason no one has yet been able to figure out, it won't run on my iMac. It used to run ok but for some reason after the update to High Sierra it would never run again...even though it is compatible.

The MX I think has not been that well marketed by Yamaha. They failed to make people fully aware of the power under the hood. I would imagine that is purely down to marketing. If people realised what could be done with it they may well not buy something more expensive.

I do know Shaun The Sheep...I'm UK based ;)
