SA-90

Unread post by TheSupposedStringMeister » Sun Jun 24, 2018 8:44 am

Thought it better to start a new thread regarding this elusive top Superaxe model with the 'funny' horns :D
This was Yamaha's top of the range Superaxe model before they started making the SA700 and higher series. Ebony fretboard, gold hardware and large inlays. More info on my website: https://superaxe.vanpolanenpetel.net/Th ... ge_id=1117

Edit
Have you ever played an SA 90? I have only ever seen a couple on Ebay over the years but would be tempted if I saw one now.
George, there is a very nice SA-90 on Reverb. Bit pricey IMO and does not say if it has OHSC.

Here's the link and a photo:

Interesting that the seller describes it as an SA 50 although it doesn't look like one

A lot of sellers get confused with vintage Yamaha models due to the lack of documentation. My SG 85 was listed as the basic SG 45. I been eying for a SA 90 and AE 18 to pair with my SG80T and 85 with thd nice ebony necks and flag inlays. I will keep an eye on the posted one and might make an offer in the future.

Very nice and thanks for thinking of me. Unfortunately cash is a little restricted right now.
Does it look to you that it has a lot of wear on the back of the neck or is it just the grain?

Saw that too and considering the overall good condition I think it is the grain... but could also be sanded back.... needs a close up photo.

I bought my SF1000 from Buyee. I got it for a 1 bid win for around $500 with around $150 shipping and fees so it came around $700 which is a deal for what they go for. I also asked for the extra packing which some foam in box which made it really safe. I recommend them.

Thanks, so Buyee takes care of the translations? If I ask a question in English, will the seller's response then be translated into English as well?
