G-Suit Launces a Kickstarter Campaign for a New Kind of Guitar Cover

Can't make up my mind about this one. It seems like it might be good but is there actually a NEED for such a product?

Also I am guessing from the details on their Kickstarter page that the retail price of G-Suit is going to be around the $50 mark and I am not sure if that is something people would want to pay? Also the name is a little confusing. If you Google it you get a load of results for a Pilot's High Pressure "G-Suit"

So, good idea or not?

Isn't it like wearing a helmet only with the full monty ??

Maybe it protects the neck sufficiently, but the body is more at risk on an acoustic guitar.

If the guitar hardbox is close by, that's the way to go, not really that much harder or time consuming.

Yeah that's kind of my way of thinking too. I guess his idea is to keep the neck dust free and protect the fingerboard from...what? and the rest of the guitar doesn't matter?

I don't remember ever having a problem with dust on my fingerboard. I tend to clean my guitars quite often anyway and I dust them down most days with one of these fluffy dusters which cost a couple of pounds and seem ideally suited to dusting fretboards :)

Using that I'm also not covering my guitar with what seems to me to be something that defeats the whole idea of keeping your guitar on display out of it's case?

Yeah, guitars are always BEST protected in their cases, but having them on display is so pleasing to the eye.

Those hanging on my living room wall are subject to temperatures, dust and even my smoking.
Tough, I just need to keep them (fairly) clean, whenever one comes down to play it gets inspected and cleaned.
Covering neck and fretboard won't make much of a difference.
