Sometimes you get lucky. Last week on holiday in Spain. Walked into a music store in Barcelona and heard fantastic country music, or let's call it rock. Waited a few songs, all fantastic. Soundhound didn't give a clue: music unknown. Asked and it turned out to be Tim Carroll. The CD was "If I could". A little sticker on the front saying "Nashville's most underrated talent" and "Immensly talented".

I bought the CD and it took me some time before I realized is was an old release from 2001. Digging on the web into his career since then shows Tim Carroll for sure still is immensly talented, but unfortunately also still immensely underrated. Even grammy winner John Prine covered songs from Carroll.

What I love about him is he never stopped making great music. No big arena's, but he's playing every friday night at the happy hour at The 5 Spot in Nashville for a few dozen people. Yesterday Reeves Gabrels joined him on guitar. That must be what making music is all about.
