Yamaha JX35

Unread post by Mimasu » Sun Sep 16, 2018 4:45 pm

Picked up an early 80'ies JX35 in great condition. Even included the original manual.

Now I have a JX15, JX35 and JX55, and not any info on them in my catalogs. I think they were a short lived series that came after the JX 20, 30, 40, 50. These 20 etc are featured up to in the 1982 catalogs. No JX's in the 1983 catalogs. In 1984 came the VX series. Could be the JX 15 etc onle were made in 1982. The print date of the manual is also 1982.

HNAD to you :D

Looks to be in very good condition. ((i))

So far none of these amps came my way, but I'd like to try one out.

Peter

Is it a smaller version of a Roland Jazz Chorus?

Leon, lets have some specs.

Does it have a (real) spring reverb installed ?

Ok, here we go:

I love vintage guts:

And a real US made Accutronics spring reverb:
Screen Shot 2018-09-17 at 19.19.03.png
And the specs:

And that's weird. Why rename a JX30 into JX35 and keeping it 30 Watts

Leon

BTW: don't remember if I posted it already but in my JX15 is a little baby spring reverb:

Ain't that cute :D

Can you make sure to "attach" images to the forum rather than link to them? Those last images caused them to load full size at the top of the forum as well as within the post. Sorted now :)

Thanks, but almost, first and last pic got switched.

I don't think I completely understand what you mean but I think I'll find the best way to post pics somewhere explained on te forum, so I'll look into it.

(I used to run a forum where we preferred to link images and not to attach, so that's still in my sytem 8) )

As almost all Yamaha solid state amps the clean sound is very good. You could compare with a Jazz Chorus, except for the chorus offcourse 8) . Crunch is OK, but lead sounds suck IMHO, at least on this JX35.

As far as clean is concerned: Yamaha amps are used by some famous jazz players.

Yeah sorry about mixing them up.

I think what happened is your original images were full size..not sure of the exact dimensions but, large anyway, certainly outside the parameters of the forum. Normally if you attach very large images the software resizes them but if you link offsite it can't do that and got itself in a bit of a mess so, your images appeared as normal in the post but also the full size images appeared at right at the top of browser window "outside" the forum but still in the browser.

No probs with linking to offsite images just need to bear in mind the dimensions of the forum. It may work or may not. You can try again if you want and see how it goes?

I'll start attaching, much easier 8)

FYI: I do the '3rd party hosting' on a part of my own website. There I can upload up to 2MB size pics, so I link to max. that size I think.

That's fine. I host this site and approx 60 others so file size is not a problem it is file dimensions that causes the issue.
