Modx6 library with sample

Unread post by Frankkhamees » Thu Oct 11, 2018 12:15 am

Hi all,

My first post here. I just purchased Yamaha Modx6 and I was wondering how to make libraries with my own sounds. I have a few sample sounds that I was to load into the keybaord. Is there a way of making libraries

Thank you.

The answer is "yes", if the samples are in the right format. Wav format with certain restrictions on the sample width and sample rate is usable. You can load samples from USB stick into the internal waveform memory. Then you can assign them to keys, velocities etc. and use them in performances just like the built-in samples. Once you have that, you can create a library from your user area. That will then include the samples as well, you can load that later as a library into the MODX.

For how to do all that, I guess you need to watch some tutorial or read the manual, it is just too much to answer in a forum.

If you have the samples already in a format with splits, velocity layers and such, then you might consider John Melas' waveform editor which can load other formats than the Montage itself.
