Issues with the drums and patterns section..

Unread post by pax-eterna » Sun Jan 13, 2019 4:10 pm

1. quite a difference in the volume levels of all the different kits
2. when trying out drum arps the kits come up with weird drum instruments (obviously Yamaha have mapped specific arps to specific kits - very annoying)
3. no way to set favourites in the drums section (or arps for that matter)
4. when experimenting with arps there is no way to hold that arp while you change drum kits, IE if an arp does not work with a particular kit and you go to try another kit, THAT kit then loads it's pre-assigned arps.

That's just a preliminary list - maybe there be more I will find. Seems the rhythm section of the MODX was pretty much "tacked" on without a lot of thought!

add
.5 the data list book should really list what kit Yamaha used with the arps, as you need to search for the correct drum kit when selecting an arp..they provide all other info (starting on page 85) EXCEPT what kits actually work with the arp selected!

So here's an example, pick the GM Stereo Kit (GM right, it should be fine with every arp, you'd think yeah?) ok then try and play a basic rock and roll arp (arp #9 btw)..all you get is a cowbell!

As I wrote, this section has not been planned out very well indeed...just tacked on at the end of the creation process it would seem!
