Motion Sequencer confusion

Unread post by mitya » Thu Jun 13, 2019 11:21 am

I'm slowly getting to grips with the MS, however I wonder if someone could help me understand the difference between the following, seemingly very similar parameters:

- the 1-127 value on each of the spikes (pulses? blocks?) within a MS pattern
- the 1-127 'amplitude' stat above the MS pattern
- the -64 - +64 'ratio' stat on mod control (when used in the context of MS lanes)

Thinking in terms of a simple MS pattern which takes the part volume from 0 to max, how should these three be configured?

Also on MS, I'm finding some weirdness in that some sequences I create will take effect only when I use bi-polarity on the mod control screen. Under uni-polarity, the sequence has no audible effect. I can't find any reason for this. Is there any reason this would be so?

In fact I've had a few occasions when my patterns seemingly just stop happening (I'm conscious you sometimes need to 'trigger' them). This is almost certainly me doing something wrong, but just in case it's not, has anyone else noticed any bugs or weirdness when it comes to inconsistent MS triggerings or effects?

Thanks in advance.
