What do you guys think about discourse?

I have been looking at with some curiosity for some time. I have seen some mobile communities just explode using it.

What are your thoughts on it?

Hello. I do not know what you are talking about, but the message sounds a little spam.

But before reaching for the "Ban Hammer", If you are a person with a genuine interest in participating in the forum, perhaps you can give a little introduction about yourself, and what you are talking about?

It's a managed forum software solution hosted on their own servers for a pretty crazy $100 a month. Completely bonkers :/:

What it has to do with this forum is another matter. My money is on spammer but lets see.

The forum software is called 'Discource' so it is in the title of the thread, I think it safe to say this one can be hammered ;)

Discourse is a free text-chat and voice-chat software and app (i.e., for both desktops and tablets/phones) that people use for live conferences and other situations where people want to chat live-- e.g., it's very popular with people who play online games for things like guild chats or coordinating group battles. (A guild is a group of players, sort of like a club, who share one or more common interests in a game, such as dueling, or crafting-- making custom weapons and armor and potions for players to use in their quests and battles-- or questing as a group in the more difficult "vet" dungeons, etc.)

This is not necessarily spam, as a few members of another keyboard forum I'm on had expressed a similar idea-- sort of like the way some forums add a "live chat room" option to their regular forum site so members can chat live with each other, either to discuss some problem they're having with a keyboard or DAW, or to have a pre-scheduled "seminar" on how to do something on your keyboard or in your DAW, or maybe just shoot the breeze.

The advantage of using Discourse for this is that it's free and available on just about every OS/platform, and you don't have to install anything in the forum. Basically, Saul-- or anyone else-- would create a "server" or channel on the Discourse site, then post the URL for it in a message in this forum, then anyone who wanted to chat live with other YamahaMusicians.com members could do so, assuming the other members had installed Discourse and had added the YamahaMusicians.com Discourse server to their Discourse channels.

My mistake, the thing I was talking about is Discord, not Discourse:
