That's sad news indeed. And just 61 too. Only a couple of years older than I am.

Didn't know she had been so ill back in 2002.

Part of the soundtrack to the 80's. The only silver lining to this rather dark cloud is the 80 million records she sold as part of Roxette. At least the music and the videos are still there for years to come.
Fredriksson was first diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2002, after collapsing in her kitchen following a workout.

The tumour cost her the vision in her right eye - but after three years of treatment, she returned to public life and toured successfully again with Roxette from 2008 to 2016.

However, the cancer eventually returned: Fredriksson's family said she had died following a recurrence of "her previous illness" earlier this week.

Can't say I was a Roxette fan as such. They were kind of on the periphery of my music interests in the 80's but I didn't dislike them either. She had a fantastic voice and was very versatile in her vocal range.

What always gets me about this things like this is people should not be dying of any sort of cancer now. If we spent half as much on medical research as we do on trying to find more effective ways to kill each other I am pretty sure we would have come a lot closer to eradicating this ever present blight on humanity.
