I asked Google from start to finish, but got no answers.
I actually have a pretty normal requirement for how I want to operate my setup.
My Yamaha CK61 should be connected to the iPad via USB in order to receive program changes from the iPad
and I want to play IOS apps on the iPad from the CK61.
I really want to quickly control the volume coming from the IOS apps.
But since audio comes into the CK61 via USB and there are no hardware controls for USB volume control,
I also want to connect a Yamaha MG10UX mixer to the iPad and control the return volume more quickly
and effectively, i.e. the volume ratio between IOS apps and CK61.
I can't use a mixer app on the iPad because I have to devote my full attention to the music notation program
Forscore.
Basically, the main problem is that two audio interfaces have to be connected to the iPad (CK61 & MG10XU).
I hope that one of the friendly colleagues can conjure up a solution.

Press the INPUT button and then ENTER, now you have a USB audio volume knob. It's pretty quick. {corrected below}
Also, within any Live Set, you can assign the mod wheel or a pedal to control USB audio volume (manual p.31).
I believe there's also a knob on the rear of the unit you can use for this, but it may be awkward to get to (or impossible if you have a board above). {also no}

thanks for trying to help but your suggestions may not work.

NO - there you control A/D input only NOT USB Volume. USB is a global setting in menu area available only.

inconveniently - pedal I use to control Volume of CK61 already, mod wheel I need to control IOS apps.
I really need a CK61 firmware update in settings area - hopefully Yamaha will observe forum.
Something like that:
USB SW = ON
USB MIDI = ON
USB AUDIO = OFF
Does no one else really have to deal with this problem?

If the only thing you use the pedal for is to control the overall volume, that function can be replaced by putting an analog volume pedal on the board's outputs, e.g. Boss FV-50L.

Thank you very much for the kind advice, which will definitely help me.
Now I just need a helicopter pilot training to be able to operate both pedals at the same time
Use the headphone out of the iPad (via adapter, if it's a newer model without headphone jack), and connect THAT to the MG10UX you want to use, OR bring that headphone-out signal into the A/D input of the CK, which you can then control with the "hit INPUT and ENTER" approach (or the gain knob on the back, if that's ergonomically feasible). You could probably still use the USB connection for sending MIDI back and forth, if you connect things in the right order (I believe the iPad always recognizes the last item connected for audio interface, so if you do the headphone connection last, that should work), but to eliminate that variable/complication, you could use the 5-pin MIDI connection instead of USB.
