These 720 and 920 prices are almost decreasing every 2 weeks now.
Another decrease might be expected on November 29, 2024 ( Black Friday ), I guess.

Those endusers who already received one of these toys must be very disappointed they have paid far too much and others will wait to order until another new decreased price will be announced ?

.....
I bought one and expect it any day now, I'm not very disappointed... I am still just very excited to receive it

Yes, I considered waiting, but what might happen during that time? I might end up not getting it. So I decided not to watch and wait but to just do it. I'm not sorry. But I'm also not reading the prices being posted

I really understand your point of view... if prices are decreasing
we also have experienced in the past Yamaha cannot always guarantee what the exact lead time will be.

But again I cannot follow Yamaha's present price policy.

BTW
It is also my intention to order an S720 early next year.
Thanks again for your " old " styles !

Yes, you will know then what more people think of it as well as save some monies. I am just hoping it matches what I have seen and expect, but I am hopeful.

You are very welcome to the styles, I'm glad they're useful. I'd put them away so I can have a tidy folder for the 720 but really just because it was a job to do while waiting.

If you run out I do have more, but they are not so tidy... no, not tidy at all

Everyone buys whenever he feels he can't wait any longer and the price/specs ratio is fair for his needs. For example I did not buy the GAIA2 at the initial price of 930 (i think) euros, but I did when it dropped to 766.

Now have a look at the 'early deals' of Thomann this week.
518 euros!
Amazing value, no doubt. But I wanted it last year and 766 was a good price for me.

Now regarding Yamaha, don't know if the current prices are dictated by policy or are else decided more or less by the market or Thomann themselves really.
I would not expect to see a black Friday deal on the SX either. These are too new I believe to be in such a deal.
But I still expect the prices to continue drifting. Eventually they will get close to the original SX700/900.

Correct : when a customer needs/wants something urgently and accepts the selling price then he/she might order, I guess.

On the other hand it would hurt me if a NEW product will be lowered in price within a very, very short periode of time ( see 720 and 920 e.g. ).

However, I would expect my loyal dealer should do whatever is possible to pay me the price difference ( back ).

Being retired every penny is very welcome. 😉
Just my personal opinion.

Regards, Jeff

-and that's all what matters :handgestures-thumbupright:

Of course we can wait endlessly for that significant price drop and when that happens, there will be a new keyboard announced.. and we wait again -instead of enjoying keyboard this whole time.
For most of us it's not easy to save money for our hobby and so it's never a good idea to buy just after announcement. But once prices settle, does the difference between i.e. 1290€ and 1370€ (or between 3980€ and 4090€) really matter that much to be worth waiting another half a year?
But I get it.. it's hard saved money and we wish to be sure that our saving is well spent... that we will get that satisfaction.

Eventually if we consider a product is grossly overpriced, sales will tank and prices will go down.

Remember the Wavestate? The original one was selling for around 600 euros. A good price and many were sold.
Then the MkII came out, essentially the same thing, just a Raspberry PI upgrade :D Korg was charging close to 1000 euros for it.

But the current price is 709 euros.

The full size wavestate SE has gone down a good 700 euros since launch. People were not going to pay 2200 for essentially a 61 keys, 600 euros wavestate in a bigger box.

Knowing when to buy is key, although not always easy. But if your instinct says the instrument is overpriced, it probably is and it's better to wait a bit. Avoid buying the first batch as well, for different reasons (immature firmware, initial production problems etc). Let it mature a bit.
That been said I feel the new SX are approaching their stable prices soon so it's actually a good time to buy (esp. the 720 which is very close to what SX700 was)

Here we go again...

SX720 today at 1248 euros.
So this is now 250 euros down from the introduction price.

That's the price I paid for SX700 about 2 months after it came to market and so I don't expect SX920/720 prices to go down any further.

I think the final price of SX700 was around 1190 so now the 720 costs essentially the same.
I can think of at least one forum member that will be very pleased! 8)

I wonder why the unit 720 and 920 prices were much higher in the beginning ?

It's not unusual for a replacement product to be priced higher than the product it replaces.
What is unusual in this case is this laughable almost 10 euro a day drift instead of a couple of normal price reductions.

Holding at 1248 € (with Greek VAT applied). I don't expect a cyberweek deal on it either.
They currently have Osmose for 200 € less though (24 hour deal). With free bag as well.
