Based on the PSR-S series, the SX series models have been completely redesigned and come with a wide array of exciting new features for even more playing, composition and songwriting possibilities.
Hello everyone. Today, I've started using the MIDI multitrack recording function on my psr sx920. For some reason, I can record the first track just fine...but any track after that does not record even though it looks like it is. At least no other tracks play back except for the first track. I've followed the instructions as closely as i know how, but nothing seems to correct the problem. Could my arranger just be defective? Any advice or help is appreciated. I do have insurance on it.

Can you try to record a style in MIDI Multi Recoding. Will it still only record to one channel?
When recording a style in MIDI Multi Recording, you should see the diffferent instruments the style are using on channel 9-16.
The MIDI Multi Recording function is a bit confusing, because the channels are assigned to different things (Like right1, right2, Left, Multi Pads etc.)
Normaly when I do multi recording, I assign right1 to channel 1-8, but it's important to change instruments via the Mixer (availible from the menu) after you done recording on the first channel. Otherwise the same instrument will be used on all 8 channels.
Cheers

Maybe it might be useful somebody is willing to create a video that will explain ( step by step ) how both new arrangers and software are working and which bugs need to be " repaired " urgently ?
It is just an idea ...
Best wishes, Jeff
hello Jeff,
I can't say that keyboard doesn't have bugs, but if something is not working as expected, then that doesn't mean it's a bug! And before saying it's a bug, it is a good idea to read Manual first.
What I'm saying is, it takes time to learn new keyboard.

That's exactly what I do
I record channels 1 to 8 as R1, because it is easier to assign and do the entire mix (voice, volume, reverb, pan, Eq)
and part 9 to 16 is only for the parts of the style you are currently using.
But if what I want is to use channels 1 to 16 to make a track-by-track arrangement, it can also be done, although it also takes longer depending on the complexity of the song.

This might seem like a silly question, but i have to ask: are you doing multi midi recording? Quick record midi and quick record Audio have no 2nd pass...
And if you *are* in multi midi recording, where are you recording *from*? You'd have manually set tracks 1 to 8 to record from Right 1, otherwise by default midi tracks 1 to 8 record *from* R1, L, R2, R3, Mp1, Mp2, Mp3, MP4. Where are you assigning the record *from*?
