Y-Style16ch program

Unread post by BogdanH »

Here's a small program that I have made for my personal needs.
The purpose of it is, to make use of up to 16 channels in style (Style Creator allows use of only up to eight channels). Beside that, we can also implement Chord Variations, which is impossible in Style Creator.
Obviously this program is only usable to those who create custom styles on keyboard from scratch. There's absolutely no reason to use this program to modify existing finished styles -that would only make the style working wrong.

Before you run the program, please read the short pdf manual that's included. I'm happy to answer any further questions.
I hope at least two people will find this program useful :D

Y-Style16ch.zip
(1.3 MiB) Downloaded 43 times
-version 1.2.2

Here's the video showing how to use the program: Y-Style16ch on Youtube.

PS: Bugs never rest -always make a copy of the style before modifying it.

New version 1.1.0
-MSB-LSB-PCn number is shown for unknown voices (useful in case expansion voices are used in style)
-additional Chord Variation settings (it's complete now)
-maybe new bugs introduced :)

Hi Bogdan :

Being a fanatic XGWorks user for many years, I have decided to try out your program tomorrow. 😀

Maybe I am completely wrong but I have the impression there is a certain comparison between both progs ... but again ... I might be completely wrong, sorry for that.

From the bottom of my heart I hope your program will do what I think it will do.
XGW cannot handle modern styles and I am sure yours does.

Cross my fingers and let you know the outcome of my experience in a couple of days. Promised.

Best regards, Jeff, the Hopeful 😉

hi Jeff,
Of course you're welcome to tryout the program. The worst thing that can happen is, that it won't be useful to you :)
Anyway, maybe you should explain what you wish to do -so that we can maybe suggest another software.

Good morning Bogdan :

I just installed your prog on my computer.
I saw in your list of keyboards mine ( SX600 ) is not shown. Am I right ? Maybe it is not usable for the SX600 ?

FAVOUR
I do not know if it is possible or too much work but I would be very grateful if you could upload an example of how to use this prog by uploading a style and how to operate ( step by step, e.g. ? ).
If there is too much work involved, plse forget my question forever.

Maybe a lot of other members might be very interested in your prog and would appreciate ( like me ) your example very much ...
but please no obligation at all. Only if it suits you. 0-)

I am looking forward to reading your reaction. Thanks, Jeff

This program is usable on SX600 the same way as for other keyboards. The problem is, I didn't create DataList for SX600 (yet) and so you cannot see voice names on Track buttons (you only see voice MSB-LSB-PCn numbers) -but you can execute all needed operations.
..I would be very grateful if you could upload an example of how to use this prog by uploading a style and how to operate ( step by step, e.g. ? ). ...
You are the first person asking this and I thank you for that!
When I uploaded this program, I knew that there can only be two cases: either one immediately knows what's all about or one has absolutely no idea.

Using this program is extremely simple, but it's not that easy to understand what the program does and what's the benefit of using it.
I could try to explain that here, but then majority would probably think that only two people in the world are maybe interested on that. At this point, let me just say that everyone who creates styles should be interested on this program. As far I know, similar program doesn't exist and I'm proud of that.

As I said, it's hard to explain with words... I will try to make a video in near future, where one could see actual example and also recognize the benefit of using this program.
Finally I need to repeat again: this program is only usable for those who create custom styles from scratch.

Greetings,
Bogdan

Very interesting ... very good idea, Bogdan.😀

It would be great if you should/could make a video. WOW ! 👍

Far better and much easier for all of us than writing and reading so many words. Keep it easy.😉

Thank you so much, Jeff

New version 1.2.0
-added SFF2 editing section
Program now has all options necessary for working with 16 channel styles and so this is the final version.

You're welcome, Jeff.
I didn't forget about the video! I know that it's hard to imagine the usability of this program, without seeing it "in action". I have already created a simple style which will serve as example, so I can explain what's all about in an easy to understand way (hopefully).
The main reason I didn't make it yet, is because I really hate making videos... :? :)

Hey Bogdan :

I really do understand well why it is not always so easy to make a video.
I am looking forward to reading your own made " instructions ".
Thanks, Jeff

ok, I did it somehow.. :)
In first post of this thread, now there's also a link to the video.
Program is also updated to v1.2.1 -I made a minor change for just in case (to prevent unexpected situations).
