Hy. One question :
Is there a limit in the number of wav we can put on the Genos ? I have 1400 wav files that represent 2510 Mb. So they can fit in 3073 mb.
But is there a limit for the number of wav ?
It is called TOC : table of content....Is the limit 1000 ? 2000 4000 ? Because if i want to import my wav packs in Genos, i have to put 2510 mb in 3000 mb space. This is easy. But if there is a table limit , for example 1000, i won't be able to load all of my wav files packs despite being less that 3072 mb....
I know korg Wavestate has 4096 mb of flash, but can only fit in 2000 wav files. Roland fantom 8000 wav in 4096 mb.
Thanks a lot !
Officially there's no limit -means, theoretically you can fill complete free memory with wav files.
But there's probably a catch.. I don't know what file system Yamaha is using, but is probably based on "allocation unit size". And if that's the case, then you cannot exploit full memory.
For example, if allocation unit size is 4kb, then that means that every file occupies multiples of 4kb space. Say, if file has size of 5kb, it will occupy 8kb of memory. Means, if all files have size of 5kb and you fill memory with them, you can actually copy into memory only amount of files that make up 60% of free memory (at this point system will show that all memory is occupied). That is, how many wav files you can copy into memory depends on size of each wav file.
Thanks a lot. You are certainly right....Will have to test....I am building YEM packs with my wav files BEFORE buying a Genos.....Waiting for end of the year to buy one....but i want one. It has everything i need. BUT i must be able to put my wavs in it !!!
