Downloaded playlists

Unread post by icgpamretired1 »

Newbie here,
I downloaded the Genos2 playlists following directions. I put them on USB and "loaded" them, but they do not play. They are all RTG files (?) I am still confused about playlists. I entered 18 settings under registration memories and named them playlists 1 & 2; they work fine. But are they now playlists? I know...lots of confusion here. But isn't a playlist the styles, voices, etc. saved to memory?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

RTG files are files of registration banks. Each bank contains up to 10 registration memories. Playlist files have TSV suffix.

That's what I want...but how do I get them to load? I see them on my list of registration files but even though I have tried to select several of them, they will not load. My playlists which are in the same list play fine. Thanks for any help.

Hi.
If you have done as described in the instructions and then have the playlist folder at root of the USB (and no other USB sticks connected), you have to load the playlist(s) by use of the playlist feature.

- Click playlist button at lower right side where the 6 six white buttons are.
- Then at the screen, you'll see what playlist already loaded at upper middle field.
- Press playlist name upper screen to choose a new one.
- Browse to the location and folder where the desired playlist are inside.
- Browse list and choose the song you want to play.

To change / load another playlist, you repeat the steps.

Btw.
To make it more convient and rapid to cange playlist, you can copy the .tsv files from each category and place them outside the genre folders, but still inside the main playlist folder.
Then you don't have to open each folder to find the .tsv, but all listed playlist visible as soon as you open the 'PlaylistForGenos2' folder.
Cheers & Happy Playing. 🍷 🎶🎵

No. A playlist does not store styles, voices, etc.

I think you are getting the terms mixed up.
  • A playlist is just a list of names of registration banks (just the names!).
  • A registration bank is a file that contains up to 10 registrations (the assignment of buttons 1-10).
  • A registration actually stores keyboard settings.

Similar happened to me. On my computer when I looked at the unzipped files I thought they were all rgt (Registration) files, but when I sorted the files by 'type' I found there was a tsv (Playlist) file with them.
On your keyboard you don't need to go to Registrations, just go to Playlist, then navigate to your USB stick and open the Playlist folder you want and you should see the Playlist title there. Select that and it should open in the keyboard's Playlist. Now you can play those titles from your Playlist. You don't need to do anything with the registration files, the Playlist will find them there as it needs them.

I'm not using a Genos2 but I think Playlists work the same way as on my 720.

Again, thank you all for these descriptions/answers. This forum is invaluable because the user manual and reference manual do not offer "fixes" when you make an error or are just learning the instrument.
