The success of Katy Hurt’s last single “Part Time Girlfriend”, which reached the Top 20 in iTunes’ Worldwide Country Chart back in November, pre-empted a whirlwind of events that have elevated her profile in the world of country music. She was almost immediately signed up as a Yamaha Artist and then offered a publishing deal by Metropolis, one of Europe’s best creative teams.

Katy’s talent as an innovative singer-songwriter had already been recognised well before that, when she reached the Finals of the Live and Unsigned competition at the O2 Arena in 2013 and then in the following year when she won the Battle of the Bands at the Rockfield Country Music Festival. Later in 2014 she released her debut EP “Blue Snake”, which resulted in a nomination for the Horizon Act of the Year at the BCMA Awards.

Growing up in the States, Katy gained an understanding and appreciation of the country sound before moving to Southern England, where she currently lives. Her first recording was made at the legendary Sun Studios in Memphis when she was just 13 years old.

2016 has already been a very busy year for Katy. Besides gigging almost every week, Katy graduated from ACM’s Songwriting & Artist Development program and became their first ever student to be signed up by Metropolis Music Publishing, the trailblazing independent music publisher. Their award-winning team has been instrumental in the production and release of her new single “Love You More”.

“Love You More” was the first of two new singles Katy recorded at London’s Metropolis Studios, home to some of the greatest hits from artists like Amy Winehouse and Adele.

You can see Katy perform live at many major events throughout the summer, including Henley Festival; both CarFest events; FSA Festival and the Buckles & Boots Festival in Nottingham.
