Yamaha announce nationwide ‘Live Sound Surgery’ dates – Learn how to Operate a Public Address system for free!

The most meticulously planned show, conference or event can be a disaster if the sound is inadequate. However, it’s often an afterthought in the total production process – usually due to a lack of technical skills and confidence.

That’s all set to change as Yamaha Music UK announce details of the forthcoming ‘Live Sound Surgery’ tour. Sixteen venues across the UK and the Republic of Ireland are offering free sessions aimed at helping people understand and learn how to operate a full PA system.

The Sound Surgery follows on from the resounding success of Yamaha’s 2012/13 national PA Essentials Tour, which identified a high demand from people who are often asked to operate amodest PA system in local schools, churches, music venues and other public spaces.

The evening sessions will be hosted by Yamaha’s Pro Audio Manager Chris Irvine, who is joined by MikeCrofts, a highly successful freelance sound engineer and a contributor to Sound on Sound, the UK’s leading music technology magazine.

Chris comments, “We’ve found there’s a big demand for this type of practical information, so our entertaining and educational session will provide those attending with the skills and confidence to proficiently operate a PA system in a variety of situations. It’s perfect for people who run events involving live music, whether it’s in a bar, a hotel, a community centre or any space where the audience expects professional sound quality.”

Demand is, once again, expected to be high so early booking is recommended. Please contact your local Live Sound Surgery Centre to book your place.
