Yamaha Debuts Limited Run of Pacifica Electric Guitars with Bold Range of Finishes

Limited Run Yamaha Pacifica 2018

Today Yamaha expanded on their successful Pacifica line of electric guitars with a new limited run of the Pacifica 612VIIFM model, featuring exciting new finishes that highlight the guitar’s flame maple tops. Only 100 pieces will be offered in the U.S.

First launched in 1990, the Pacifica series was inspired by custom-shop guitars populating the California recording session scene at the time. This latest edition in the series embodies and furthers the concept of the Yamaha Pacifica line. Known for great tone and outstanding playability, the Pacifica guitar line is ideal for experienced players of any level in search of a versatile guitar, whether played at home or at the next gig.

Like many other limited-run models in this series, this top-of-the-line Pacifica brings superb build quality and features. The guitar’s double cut, beveled-alder solid body delivers a balanced, resonant tone, while the rosewood fingerboard and bolt-on maple neck ensure smooth and comfortable playability.

For electronics, the Pacifica 612VIIFM arrives fully loaded with Seymour Duncan pickups, including two SSL-1 single-coil pickups for neck and middle positions and a TB-14 in the bridge. Five-way switching delivers a wide range of tones right out of the box, ranging from soft classic single-coil sounds to hotter tones by way of the Custom 5 Trembucker. A push-pull coil split (master tone knob) adds to the tonal diversity. On the hardware side, the Wilkinson VS50-6 tremolo bridge, Grover locking tuners and Graph Tech TUSQ nut and saddles provide serious stability. The solid alder bodies deliver a balanced, resonant tone. The fresh Indigo Blue and Translucent Black finishes enhance the beauty of the guitar’s flame maple top.

“Bringing a dual, single-coil humbucker configuration to the top end of our Pacifica line provides the guitarist with the ultimate high-performance instrument,” said Armando Vega, marketing development specialist, Yamaha Guitars. “This guitar reflects our company’s ‘Never Standing Still’ mantra, where our customers can expect new looks, new options and plenty of built-in value from this time-tested, versatile and trusted instrument series. Upgraded materials and high-performance components make this an extremely versatile guitar for a variety of playing styles.”
