Yamaha Documentary of the I’m a HERO Program

Music can change lives. It can change the perceptions people have of you and how you look at the world around you. Music can open doors to new friends, new places and new opportunities . Yamaha have always been a company that likes to give back and always with a strong emphasis on inspiring and enabling young people to realise their goals.

This story relates how children took up a musical instrument, and with it, used their abilities to open up doors to their future, becoming heroes in the process. We hope that you will enjoy this video, which is set in Colombia, and which illustrates the path they took to overcome invisible walls through the power of music.

Most of the children who participated in the program featured in this story live in slum areas often referred to as “Comuna,” where disorder and crime are a part of everyday life. 26 boys and girls, from the ages of seven to thirteen, all with different hopes and ambition, were chosen to take part.
